2 And moreover1571 in time past,8543 1571 8032 even1571 when Saul7586 was1961 king,4428 thou859 wast he that leddest out3318 and broughtest in935 853 Israel:3478 and the LORD3068 thy God430 said559 unto thee, Thou859 shalt feed7462 853 my people5971 853 Israel,3478 and thou859 shalt be1961 ruler5057 over5921 my people5971 Israel.3478

3 Therefore came935 all3605 the elders2205 of Israel3478 to413 the king4428 to Hebron;2275 and David1732 made3772 a covenant1285 with them in Hebron2275 before6440 the LORD;3068 and they anointed4886 853 David1732 king4428 over5921 Israel,3478 according to the word1697 of the LORD3068 by3027 Samuel.8050

4 And David1732 and all3605 Israel3478 went1980 to Jerusalem,3389 which1931 is Jebus;2982 where8033 the Jebusites2983 were, the inhabitants3427 of the land.776

11 And this428 is the number4557 of the mighty men1368 whom834 David1732 had; Jashobeam,3434 a Hachmonite,1121 2453 the chief7218 of the captains:7991 he1931 lifted up5782 853 his spear2595 against5921 three7969 hundred3967 slain2491 by him at one259 time.6471

12 And after310 him was Eleazar499 the son1121 of Dodo,1734 the Ahohite,266 who1931 was one of the three7969 mighty men.1368

13 He1931 was1961 with5973 David1732 at Pas-dammim,6450 and there8033 the Philistines6430 were gathered together622 to battle,4421 where was1961 a parcel2513 of ground7704 full4392 of barley;8184 and the people5971 fled5127 from before4480 6440 the Philistines.6430

14 And they set themselves3320 in the midst8432 of that parcel,2513 and delivered5337 it, and slew5221 853 the Philistines;6430 and the LORD3068 saved3467 them by a great1419 deliverance.8668

15 Now three7969 of4480 the thirty7970 captains7218 went down3381 to5921 the rock6697 to413 David,1732 into413 the cave4631 of Adullam;5725 and the host4264 of the Philistines6430 encamped2583 in the valley6010 of Rephaim.7497

16 And David1732 was then227 in the hold,4686 and the Philistines'6430 garrison5333 was then227 at Bethlehem.1035

17 And David1732 longed,183 and said,559 Oh that4310 one would give me drink8248 of the water4325 of the well4480 953 of Bethlehem,1035 that834 is at the gate!8179
